The Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test (MAH MCA CET) is a crucial entrance exam for admission to MCA programs at various government and private colleges in Maharashtra. Conducted annually by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell, the exam is an online Computer-Based Test. Candidates aspiring to join MCA courses in Maharashtra must pass this entrance exam.
The MAH MCA CET 2025 exam registration begins in the 2nd week of January 2025 and ends in the 2nd week of February 2025, with the exam scheduled for the 2nd week of March 2025.
The registration fee is ₹1200 for Open Category, Outside Maharashtra State, and J & K Migrant candidates, and ₹1000 for Reserved Categories, EWS, PwD, Orphan, and Transgender candidates from Maharashtra.

What is the MCA CET Exam?

The Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test (MAH MCA CET) is an entrance exam for admission to MCA programs at various government and private colleges in Maharashtra. Administered annually by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell, the exam is conducted online as a Computer-Based Test. To gain admission into MCA courses in Maharashtra, candidates must pass this entrance exam.

MCA CET 2025 Exam Fees

The application fees for MAH MCA CET 2024 can be paid online through internet payment methods, credit or debit cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), internet banking, IMPS, cash cards, and mobile wallets. Additional service charges as per rules apply on top of the application form processing fee. No other payment methods are accepted, and the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

  • Candidates will be required to submit Persons with Disability (PWD) Certificate if applicable at the time of filling CAP Application form

Eligibility Criteria for the MCA CET exam

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for MAH MCA CET 2025:
Nationality:
  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
Educational Qualification:
  • Candidates must have completed a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
Marks:
  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories, EWS, and PwD categories from Maharashtra state).
Subjects:
  • Candidates must have studied Mathematics at the 12th level or during their graduation.
Final Year Students:
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for CET.
Additional Notes:
  • Grades/CGPA Conversion: If grades/CGPA are awarded instead of marks, the conversion to percentage will be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from which the bachelor’s degree was obtained.
  • Rounding Off: The percentage of marks will be rounded off to two decimal places.
  • Caste Validity: Candidates from SC, VJ/DT (NT (A)), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC, and SBC categories must provide a “Caste Validity Certificate” issued by the Social Welfare Department’s Scrutiny Committee. ST category candidates must submit a “Tribe Validity Certificate” issued by the Tribal Department’s Scrutiny Committee. Additionally, a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate is required for all except SC and ST candidates at the time of document verification.

MCA CET 2025 Registration Process

The application form is available exclusively online at www.cetcell.mahacet.org To apply, candidates should follow these steps:
  1.  Open the MAH MCA CET 2024 website.
  2. Click on the ‘apply now’ tab and register as a new user.
  3. Enter your name, email ID, and other requested contact details to register.
  4. Upon successful registration, you will receive a registration number and password via email and SMS.
  5. Save the registration number and password for future reference.
  6. After registration, fill out the detailed application form.
  7. Upload a recent passport-size photo and a scanned copy of your signature.
  8. Pay the application fee after uploading the required images.
  9. Preview the information filled in the form before clicking the ‘save’ button. If you need to make any changes, click on ‘edit’ and update the information.
  10. Candidates must be careful while filling the application form as there will be no correction facility provided to make changes.
  11. Download and print your completed application form. Keep it safe until the admission process is finished.

MCA CET Exam Pattern

The following section outlines the MAH MCA CET Exam Pattern 2025:
  • Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted online.
  • Duration: The exam will last 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • Total Questions: There will be 100 questions in the CET.
  • Question Types: The exam will consist of Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions (MCQs).
  • Total Sections: There will be 4 sections in total.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will be worth 200 marks.
  • Medium: The CET will be conducted in English.
  • Marking Scheme: Candidates will receive +2 marks for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
